Tech Neck

Tech Neck is a modern day term for a very real problem. The act of holding your head flexed and forward while looking down at your cell phone, ipad, and/or laptop screen places your cervical spine in a tenuous position.
The symptoms of tech neck start subtle: Minor stiffness or pain in your neck, tension in your shoulders, and a general ache in your upper body.
Over long periods of time, maintaining this head-forward posture can lead to muscle strain, disc injury, nerve impingement and arthritic changes of the neck—and the potential for developing ongoing neck and shoulder pain, headaches, breathing difficulties, and pain, numbness, and/or tingling radiating down the arms and fingers.
The weight of the head can be up to 60 pounds when looking down at a 60 degree angle. This puts tremendous strain on the neck and spine.
